Music lessons are looked upon in a lot of different ways. For many they are a source of fun or recreation, for others they provide a hobby, and for some a profession. What is often overlooked is that music is a form of education. Studies conducted by respected educators have proven that children and young adults enrolled in a music program develop learning skills more rapidly than those who are not. Academic grades were noticeably higher in students with a musical background as well as their ability to analyze and evaluate information. In later life these skills translate well into the work place in such areas as teamwork, attitude and increased capacity to deal with conflict. |

| PRIVATE LESSON PROGRAM | |

The Jersey Drum School teaching program is designed by our staff to provide maximum productivity from our students. The program has been carefully planned to provide the most well rounded level of education in such important areas as hand development, technique, reading, timing, rudiments, playing grooves and ethnic studies. From cultivating new and upcoming drummers to honing the skills of the intermediate and pro level players we offer something for every one. In addition to our regular programs for drum set and hand percussion we now offer 6-week comprehensive mini courses to fill specific needs a player may have. These classes will concentrate only on the topic you have chosen and are designed to accelerate progress in that area. Skill level requirements and suggested practice times are available by consulting with a member of the staff. Topics currently being offered are Jazz, Latin, reading, hand technique, and percussion and double bass drum. |

| ABOUT OUR STAFF | |
| The Jersey Drum School staff has a level of experience not equaled at any teaching facility in the New Jersey area. With degrees from such institutions as Berklee College of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Musicians Institute and Drummers Collective our instructors have studied with some of the greatest players and teachers in the world. This high level of education combined with extensive recording and performing experience makes our staff the finest there is. | |
